Chapter 4: Trial of the Mind

:-:

Zalgo led the five into the next arena, across from the previous one. He was very pleased with the first trial results, and couldn’t wait to see how they’d all handle the next trial. This arena was different. It consisted of twenty small rooms, all lined up in a row, like cells almost. Before Zalgo assigned them each a room, he handed them all a remote with two buttons on it, and gave them certain directions.

“This trial will be very different compared to the last.” He began.

“The rooms are shape-shifting ones, and they react specifically to my demonic aura. I shall place you each in two different situations, and it’s up to you to think logically, and find the best way to escape.” Zalgo continued to explain, and paced down the row of killers again. Pacing was a habit more than anything else, and it helped him think.

“As killers and perhaps assassins, you must train to not only enhance your physical abilities, but your mental train of thought as well, if you were to ever get caught. This trial will not be easy. If you feel you can’t handle this trial, you channel your aura into the red button, and the room shall return back to normal. When you complete the first situation, channel your aura into the green button, and the room will change to put you in the second situation. If I personally feel you can’t handle these two tasks, I shall put the room back to normal. Understood?”

They all nodded.

“Good. Now…” He said, while taking time to look at each and every one of the recruits. The Demon Lord saw great potential in some more than others, but perhaps those who he viewed as “weak” would surprise him.
Zalgo couldn’t wait to see what they were all capable of.

“Off you go~”

:-:

A/N: I could describe how all their tasks went, but since that would be a waste of time and finger muscle, let’s just skip to a certain blue eyed assassin’s mission, shall we? Plus, he is the recruit that Zalgo is gonna favor most  >:-}…

:-:

I walked into the room Lord Zalgo had assigned me. The first trial wasn’t so bad. All I really needed to do was display my powers, and he did seem rather… pleased with me.

Maybe too pleased…

He… got so close to me. I’m not saying Lord Zalgo is bad. It’s just he’s… different than what I’d expect him to be. I thought he was always a bloodthirsty tyrant, who ruled all over the killers land. Half of that’s true. He does rule far and wide, beyond his castle, but… he doesn’t seem bloodthirsty. Just the way he talks, and everything so far about him doesn’t define bloodthirsty at all.

Then again… I barley know him on a level like Jeff the Killer, or Slenderman. And, I don’t know if I even want to know him that well. He still can be scary from time to time. He has that… smile. That demonic smile, which not even Jeff seems to possess. And what’s worse is… he has seven mouths, not just one.

The room began to change. I was suddenly being chased by a mob of angry humans, who were all screaming, “Kill the monster!” over and over again. I thought nothing of it, since I’m so used to being called things like “monster” and “creature” and “murderer”. That part didn’t affect me. However, the part that I was concerned about was the fact that they were all carrying guns, torches, and knives. Just because you’re not human doesn’t mean you’re immune to lead being shot through your heart.

I remembered what Lord Zalgo said about thinking logically, and ran. Of course, that was all I could think of at the moment. I ran for about a minute, so I could give myself time to think of a strategy. I looked at the positives: It was night time, we were in a forest, and the tree leaves were very thick, casting many shadows form a full moon. I looked for the largest tree patch I could find, then unleashed a wave of shadows around them, all of them.

The mob of humans slowly disintegrated with bloody cries. Had I just passed the first situation? Wow! That was easier than I though. But I remembered how Lord Zalgo looked at me and said not to get my hopes up just yet. So, I remained humble, and channeled my demonic energy into the green button on the remote I had stored in my cloak.

The room changed, and much to my discomfort, I was chained up to a wall, blindfolded and had a handkerchief tied behind my head to my mouth so I couldn’t speak, and completely unaware of my surroundings. I pulled on the chains, but they were secured beyond tight.

I was trapped…
Wow... I type fast XD I should probably do my homework Spazattackplz
